WMVC Autumn Concert
2018 marks the centenary of the Armistice which ended World War 1, so the theme of the first half of the concert will be Remembrance of the more than nine million soldiers who lost their lives in the conflict. We will be joined, very appropriately, by the Kingdom Brass Ensemble, a professional and versatile brass quintet with a military background, comprised of some of the country’s foremost brass musicians who have been playing together in different ensembles for many years.
For the second half of the concert we will move to more joyous Celebration, with Kingdom Brass Ensemble playing more light-hearted pieces and the Weybridge Male Voice Choir singing their hearts out and including both ‘Run’, which was very popular when we brought it into our programme at our Spring Concert, and a first performance of the exciting ‘Africa’, arranged specially for us by Johnny Kilhams, our Musical Director.
