Good evening, Gentlemen
Items for this week:
Sid Brittin
Last week we asked for a show of hands of those intending to attend Sid’s memorial on 7th November. We were down in numbers last week so there was some guesswork. Can we repeat the request this Tuesday so we can firm up on numbers. Thank you. I have repeated Mark’s comments below.
FROM Johnny:
Plan for rehearsal
1. Work on Sleigh Ride followed by getting a good recording of it for schools to practice with
2. Work on Modimo followed by videoing the choir so choir members can assess the "choreography" for themselves!
3. Carol of the bells
4. Nessun Dorma (off copy?!)
5. The Most Wonderul Time
As per Johnny’s note a few weeks ago, please bring your Christmas music each week, the running order is attached again as a reminder.
From our Publicity Team:
Publicity: Christmas Concert - Fri 12th December.
The countdown continues, only 7 weeks to go!

Get your tickets early, we have sold out on previous years!
Our charity this year is 'Shooting Star'.
Sid Brittin Repeat of last week’s item:
From Mark :
Sadly, Sid Brittin died recently aged 92. Sid was a member of the Choir (T2) for many years before COVID, and returned briefly a couple of years ago until travel to choir became too onerous.
WMVC was an important part of Sid’s life, and his family are holding a Memorial celebration on Friday, 7th November at St Mary’s Church in Walton, at which they would love to have a rendition of ‘Crossing the Bar’ from as many of us as are able to be there.
The service will begin at 3pm, and we will sing near the start. Everyone is welcome at the service, but there will be a chance to slip away after our piece for anyone who is not able to stay. The family are stressing informality, and are happy for us not to be in uniform.
Les will ask for an informal show of hands on Tuesday, and any of Mark Ellis (T2), Alan White (T1), John Abson (Bari) or Ron Reed (Bass) can tell you more about Sid!
That’s it for this week
Les
And finally………
