2nd August 2026

Good evening, Gentlemen

I see that Shepperton has joined in the wildfire crisis, with two fires in the last couple of weeks.

This Week - 1st “Drop In” session

This week marks our first drop in session as part of our drop in in August. Johnny will gauge the room and if we have a few new people then we will start with something completely different that no one will have done before. If we don’t have any newcomers then we will just crack on with business as usual. It was Johnny’s aim to have the first 30mins of each session completely new material, then go through a range of pieces to inspire the newcomers before the break and then at the break newcomers are free to stay for the second half or go to the pub early but we will concentrate on the more tricky bits after the break.

Plan For The Evening

0. A possible surprise if we have new comers

1. The Rose

2. Somebody To Love

3. Fix You

4. Cantique de Jean Racine (KEEP GOING CHAPS… WE CAN DO THIS!)

5. You Raise Me Up

Tuesday 18th August - Johnny away… Jamie In!

You may remember Jamie Ellis, a certain son of a Mark Ellis (aka Uniform Man/Running Man/Tenor 2…man) who stepped in for us when Johnny was unable to conduct us for Sid Brittian’s funeral a few months ago. Well Johnny will be away on the 18th August and has asked him to stand in for him. He is just setting out in his career and Johnny thought it would be nice to support local young talent and give him the opportunity to run a full rehearsal with us. You never know… if he likes us enough he might pop along occasionally with his dad and sing some tenor with us on a Tuesday so be nice and enjoy!

POSTER FOR AUGUST DROP INS

Please find attached our poster for our August drop ins (both as PDF and JPEG).

Please get sharing this electronically. We don’t have any printed versions of this so will rely on online marketing and sharing with friends and other groups.

Social media and photographer……………..

We have raised this subject recently – since Heidi left we have had ad hoc postings mainly from Johnny, but we need to maintain our socials which will hopefully lead to higher audience numbers.

Put your thinking caps on chaps, if there are none amongst us who are capable or willing, do we know anyone who would be interested? We did pay Heidi so that is a possibility.

And finally………
