The Choir exists to ‘Serve the Community’ and currently has almost 60 members. It has sung to a high standard for over 100 years, regularly participating in international male voice choir competitions.  Locally, its concerts attract audiences of over 200 people and while entertaining the public in the Weybridge area, the Choir raises money for its own funds and, most importantly, for many other charities.  The Choir is a source of lasting comradeship for its members, their families and for a growing group of close followers.

Reasons for Sponsorship

Although the Choir typically raises £1,000 for selected charities at each of its own concerts, the cost of putting on concerts, solely to benefit other charities, has exceeded the fee the Choir is able to charge. These concerts have become loss making for the Choir and unaffordable for smaller charities.  Prior to Covid, the Choir would perform 10-12 such concerts annually.  Now the number of concerts has halved.  Sponsorship would subsidise the cost of concerts in support of smaller charities and mitigate the losses currently incurred by the Choir.

The Choir is a registered charity, No. 108624, and aims to balance its books.  A typical year would see it funded largely by choir members’ subscriptions, ticket sales from its three main concerts and miscellaneous items: a total of £23k. Its principal outgoings are fees for its professional musical director and accompanist, hire of a rehearsal hall, a van to transport equipment and music related expenses: a total of £23k.

3.     Half-page advertisement in three concert programmes, worth £ 120.

4. Or Quarter page advertisement in three concert programmes, worth £ 60.

5.     VIP seating at main concerts.

6.     Complimentary £ 15 tickets (2) for three concerts, worth £ 90.

7.     Priority booking.

8.     Newsletter.

Sponsorship Costs:

Corporate Sponsor - £1,000/per annum – All benefits shown above, except 4.

Corporate Patrons - £250/per annum – Excludes benefits 1 and 3. 

Donations and Grant Funding:

Donations are always welcome. If they are of sufficient value (a minimum of £250) an acknowledgement would be made on the Choir’s website. Occasionally, applications are made for grant funding to enable the purchase of expensive equipment or uniforms. They can be added to by donations and similar acknowledgements would be made.
